City of God (Cidade de Deus): Perfect. If there was a movie that i could say is flawless, it would be this. First things first, the cinematography is art. Not only do I feel like I'm in Brazil, it's almost like I can feel the heartbeat of the city on my wrists. The amount of polish on every single one of the scenes is just unreal. The time shift method fits the movie to a T. The Characters are real: flawed and tragic, not to mention hopeless and often times, high on life (among other things). Lil' Z scares the crap out of you and you just know you want to be Benny's best friend. Rocket is one hell of a protagonist. This movie goes beyond plot for me. I will watch this over and over again simply because it made me fall in love with everything about it more so than the grave lesson it teaches.

+ = How rocket finally got laid. Benny. The Dance Hall Scene, I totally felt that.
- = Benny's untimely death. The fact that I dont know Brazilian Portuguese.

Cortical Activity rating: Venti

This one gets 10/10

Thoughts I thought these days:

The following songs rule: Sheryl Crow's rendition of The First Cut Is The Deepest, George Michael's Amazing and Duran Duran's rendition of Ordinary World. For all of you that disagree, you may all clean my lucky draws.

The amount of times that I've run up to a bus from a mile away only to see it pull away as im metres away is unusually high. Hamilton Bus Drivers: You Suck.

I've smelt Diesel White on 3 seperate people and it does it's own thing with people's chemistry: I couldn't recognize it on either of them.

This is the most annoying thing: You're on the road before something important and all you need is a good track to pump you up yet all you can hear is crappy ass mofo commercials advertising trash nobody will buy and events only chumps will go to. Z103.5: You Suck.

When Ismail and I first saw that movie, we both decided we were going to Rio sometime soon and have a good time there.

Whose in?

10/10! whoa, now i HAVE to see this movie.

and hey, when you're on your way to something important, make sure you arm yourself with a good pumping CD, no WAY can you rely on the radio. DJ Danny D and the Hammer have seen better days... (PS- 91.5 the beat isnt always bad)

hahahah and THAT my friends is why you should NEVER run for the bus.

And listening to the radio just makes you hate music. You sit there for hours waiting for the friggin ads to shut the hell up and stop selling you useless shit, but the first song that comes up is trash. So you tune into another station and that song is trash. And another and another, until, finally, you give up and turn the bloody thing off.

ap: i like my brazil on the soccer pitch, not as a pistol on my throat telling me to give it up.

maryam: Danny D is actually an accomplished DJ, it's just that Z103 is ridiculously commercialized now. they'll still (thankfully) play the anthem UK house song here and there though.

farah: LOL. so much ANGER. ;-)

Qudsia: that movie had more hype than actual content. It was mediocre at best.

George Michael's Amazing is

Diesel White doesn's smell so good from the bottle, but I agree it works its own magic depending on the person.

Bus drivers everywhere suck. Do you guys have those yellow buses?

hype, my ass.

radio stations suck. they play a clip of a song and when you're like "ah my favourite song" they say "we will play this and more after three minutes of these stupid commercials"
cry.
